COVID-19 Studies Recruiting People with MS

The National MS Society is partnering with organizations and supporting research that seeks to understand the impacts of COVID-19 for people living with MS, both in those who have the infection and those who do not. Other studies may address the impact of COVID-19 vaccines in people with MS.

Researchers at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center are seeking volunteers for a research study seeking to describe the barriers and facilitators to engagement in healthcare for people with disabilities during the COVID-19 pandemic. You may qualify if you are: a person with a disability or a care provider for someone with a disability; and at least 18 years old. Participation in the study involves one or two interviews (approximately 45-60 minutes). Interviews will be on the phone or on Zoom video conference.  Investigators nationwide are recruiting 900 adults living with multiple sclerosis and other disorders, and up to 300 children with multiple sclerosis for a clinical trial to assess immune system responses to extra dose(s) of the authorized COVID-19 vaccines.

All individuals with Multiple Sclerosis are invited to participate in a survey to help learn more about fatigue in MS and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on fatigue. Questions will include demographics, fatigue severity and how fatigue impacts your daily activities, questions about other MS symptoms, and questions about how the COVID-19 pandemic impacted fatigue.

Researchers are developing an artificial intelligence agent to understand and address the concerns about the COVID-19 vaccine among people with MS. Participants will be talking with the AI consultant for 15 - 20 minutes in an online meeting. Participants will be compensated for the participation time.
