New to Pediatric MS: Navigating Your Journey
Virtual Program

Connect and learn with others who are new to pediatric MS and navigating their own journeys. This virtual program is designed for preteens and teens ages 12-17 who live with MS, as well as their parents or legal guardians. Young people will have chances to share their unique experiences living with MS, and all participants will have the opportunity to ask questions of a healthcare professional.

This program will be offered quarterly on the 4th Thursday of the month. The program content will be the same each quarter.

Agenda for the virtual program

This free program provides information about MS and symptom management, strategies for living with MS as a family and ideas on how to navigate peer relationships, school and extracurricular activities. Participants may also join a conversation about self-advocacy, disclosure and coping strategies.

The agenda includes:

  • Learning about MS — Definition, symptoms and types of MS
  • Managing MS — MS treatments, symptom management and your healthcare team
  • Living Well with MS — Maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle, managing MS as a family, navigating peer relationships and obtaining school support
  • Live Chat — Interactive opportunity for youth to connect over issues relevant to their daily lives in school and at home
